Empingham Village Access Audit

Wed, 03 Apr 2019 10:30

The Rutland Access Group will be carrying out an Access Audit of the Village on Wednesday from 10.30am, and will meet in the car park of the white horse pub.

The aim is to walk round the main centre of the village, taking in the public access buildings: church, shops, school, village hall, surgery. If possible they will look at both sides of the road and check that there are suitable dropped kerbs in place and record any problems that we encounter. Following this they will prepare a report for both the parish council and the county council with a view to hoping that some improvements can be made.

All are welcome to attend and join in.
Anyone with children in a pushair or anyone with a mobility aid of any kind would certainly help ascertain where access is restricted, so please do come and join us.

Solar Panels at Rutland Water Public Drop-in Session 10th April 3pm-6.30pm

Wed, 10 Apr 2019 03:00

Good afternoon

We were in touch at the end of February to share information about our renewable energy proposals at Rutland Water and I am writing to share details about a public drop-in session we are holding in a couple of weeks time.

As you'll be aware, we are proposing to install solar panels on land we own at Rutland Water in order to help provide clean green power to our pumping station at Empingham. Increasing our generation of renewable energy is one of the ways we are adapting our operations to the effects of climate change so we can help to protect the environment and continue to meet our customers' needs in the future.

Although our proposals are still at an early stage, we are inviting our neighbours in the community to a drop in session. Our team will be on hand to share the background to our proposals and answer any questions.

The session is taking place on 10 April 2019 between 3pm and 6:30pm at the Audit Hall, Empingham, LE15 8PH.

We hope as many people as possible are able to drop in and join us so do please feel free to share details about the event with anyone who might be interested.

If you're unable to attend but wish to speak with us please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Best wishes
